Thumbport Bundle

I got 4 flutes to "try-before-buy" and had great hopes for the Yamaha 362 - Unfortunately, the thumbport lands right in between the springs rests of the D-E keys and interferes with the operation.
I even trying filing it (the thumbport :-) to no avail - it is too wide and since it's not very tight on the flute body, it would certainly slide.
That was a bummer as you know, the flutes are very slippery, thanks for the mirror-like polishing and I have tendency to roll the flute towards me - the thumbport solves the problem for me (yes, a late student).
I attached 4 pics: 2 for the Yamaha and two for my other flute (the other 3 I have to try-out have the springs rests in the same position) showing bad fitment and good fitment.

Very good product, however, had I known that I would not be using the left hand finger rest, I would have preferred to only purchase the right hand ]thumb rest.

The right hand rest for my thumb has proven to be quite helpful and useful. I will definitely be using it.

Good for my C flute. i need on for my Alto Flute.

I bought a couple of other ergonomic devices for my left forefinger. This one nails it - hits the right spot on my hand and doesn't walk around on the instrument. The only reason I didn't buy this earlier is I couldn't tell from the photographs on the website how it works. A couple of photos showing it attached to an actual flute would be a big help.

This is a perfect option for anyone who has aging hands with arthritis. I feel even more comfortable supporting the flute with the Left Hand Rest. I have been a Fingerport user for a while now as I also have "hitch-hikers" thumb and fingers are starting to sway to the right.

I’ve been playing for about 50 years and have started to have some thumb pain. The thumbport is helpful as it allows more variety of thumb positions, and adds a little stability which = reduced hand tension. The instrument fits in the case with the thumbport on. Not a miracle, but good. I’d say it would also be good for a young player with small hands to prevent bad habits from becoming ingrained.

I tried the Kooiman thumb rest but didn’t like it because it forces a thumb position that’s bad for my particular hand… plus it doesn’t fit in the case & doesn’t pop on and off as easily as the thumbport. The Bo-Pep was nice but it threw the flute off balance for me. It’s probably better if you have an offset G… mine is inline.

I love it—it works exactly as I expected. The support provides greater stability and firmness. It’s the best purchase I’ve made. It’s small, so I can easily carry it in my flute case.

I find using the Thumbport reduces fatigue in balancing the flute, particularly with my hyperextended "hitchhiker's thumb" which is cradled by the Thumbport.

Just what I needed. I'm a beginner and was experiencing pain in my right thumb. Thumbport II rectified the problem. Highly Recommend

I'm 70, and I had the base joint on my left thumb replaced a little over three months ago due to aging and arthritis. Now my thumb's range of motion is different, but this fingerport adds space between my hand and the flute body allowing space for my thumb to move more freely. I also put a plug in my G key because mine is an in-line flute, and my ring finger has to reach a little further and sometimes doesn't quite cover the hole. All-in-all, I'm relieved I will be able to continue playing my flute! When I first tried and discovered it was going to take some adjustment, i was very discouraged. This little device has changed everything! Thank you!

I like this fingerport. It helps align my left hand well, considering my arthritic fingers. My pointer finger is no longer sore from leaning against the flute. It did have a tendency to slide under a couple of keys, but I put some glue dots under it and it is holding in place better now.

Thumbport works so well that I had to try Fingerport and sure enough I like it. Not as important as the Thumbport but together even better. The stability helps me focus on my embouchure and breathing. Also don’t have to detach, fits fine in my flute case.

I've made adjustments due to age and small hands. This piece adjusts the angle and helps compensate for small hands. I find it very helpful. Wish I had done this years ago.

The product does exactly what it is supposed to. I'm still getting used to having the thumbport on my flute but can already notice a difference. I wish I would've gotten one sooner.

Works really well to keep my flute from rotating and slipping where it sits on my right thumb. Especially helpful on older players who have lost some of the "plumpness" and padding you had on your fingers when you were younger.

I love it! Makes it much easier to hold and balance my flute.

It takes a little bit to get used to, but it keeps my small hands from scrunching my fingers in attempt to balance the flute.
