Description

Funeral March of a Marionette (4 Flutes) By Charles Gounod, Arranged by Lior Eitan, Published by Edition Svitzer (2014)

In 1871-72, while residing in London, Gounod started to write a suite for piano called "Suite Burlesque". After completing one movement, the Funeral March of a Marionette, he abandoned the suite and had the single movement published by Goddard & Co. In 1879 he orchestrated the piece. The music was used to accompany at least two early films:
Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans (1927)
Welcome Danger (1929)
Duration: 6 minutes. Two C Flutes, Alto Flute and Bass Flute.
