Fantaisie Brilliante on Themes from Bizet's Carmen (Flute and Piano)
Description
Fantaisie Brilliante based on the Opera by Georges Bizet (1838-1875), For Flute and Piano, by Francois Borne (1840-1920), Published by Little Piper.
One of the more popular forms of flute music during the last part of the 19th century was the theme and variations salon piece. Francois Borne was the solo flutist of the Bordeaux Opera house and he cleverly adapted the melodies from George Bizet's Carmen for flute and piano, and interwove these beautiful tunes with sets of virtuosic display.
