Description
French Romantic composer and violinist Benjamin Godard (1849-1895) was known for his lyrical and elegant style, particularly in chamber and vocal music. Though he wrote operas and symphonies, his smaller works remain popular for their expressive beauty. Originally for violin and cello, Aubade, Op. 133 (“morning song”) unfolds with graceful melodies and delicate ornamentation, evoking the serenity of dawn. This flute duet arrangement for C flute and alto flute captures Godard’s flowing lines and expressive phrasing in a chamber music setting suitable for intermediate to advanced players.
