Aus der Heimat-Festspiel, Opus 39a (2 Flutes)
Description
Aus der Heimat-Festspiel, Opus 39a (2 Flutes) By Franz & Carl Doppler, Arranged by András Adorján, Published by Edition Svitzer (2019)
Franz Doppler (1821-1883) composed his Festspiel Aus der Heimat, Opus 39 for the silver wedding anniversary of the imperial couple Franz Joseph and Elisabeth in 1879. It was so successful, that it was given more than 50 times at the Hofoper in Vienna between 1879 and 1881. A piano reduction by the composer was published immediately in 1879 by J. Gutmann; and it was soon followed by several arrangements for various instruments. As no arrangement for flute(s) and piano by the composer himself has yet been found, the present version for two flutes and piano, Opus 39a has been reconstructed and adapted strictly in accordance with the authentic piano reduction by Jan Philip Schulze. Duration ca.15 minutes.
