Like a Storm (2011) was conceived and composed as a tribute to flutist Carol Wincenc, and was premiered in her honor at the 2011 National Flute Association convention in Charlotte, NC. This piece is meant to emulate the full experience of a gorgeous summer storm approaching, arriving and passing – our representation of Carolʼs colorful, strong and beautiful presence. Carol has been an incredible mentor to Flutronix, and her support and guidance has been invaluable to us. With that said, it is a true privilege to dedicate this piece to her.
