This has been my “go to” book on Tone for many years

This has been my “go to” book on Tone for many years, and as a professional, I warm up with these exercises, or variations on them, every day. I use this for almost all of my students and appreciate all of the time that Trevor Wye spends writing about how the tone should sound, and what colors you can achieve, etc.etc. It is a book that encourages students to listen carefully to themselves with a critical ear and is good for both young pupils and adults, especially those who are returning to flute after having not played for a while. My favorite book on Tone!
