Description
French composer Jules Mouquet (1867–1946) studied at the Paris Conservatoire and later became a professor of harmony there. His most famous composition, La Flûte de Pan, Op. 15, is a flute sonata composed in 1904 that depicts scenes from Greek mythology featuring the god Pan. The three-movement work features lush harmonies and flowing melodies, blending late Romantic and early Impressionist styles, making it a favorite in the flute repertoire. This edition recreates the solo flute part from the piece’s original publication, while the piano accompaniment has been arranged for a second flute player. The original rehearsal marks have been preserved, ensuring compatibility with other editions.
