Description
During a period of intense research work on Byzantine church music, while also working on her music improvisations entitled Music of Sound, Ljubica Marić composed this rhapsodic piece for flute, which contains characteristics from both of these domains: it is the result of an inspired improvisation and comprises some fragments of the ancient melodies of the Octoëchos. It has been first performed in 1976 by Anne Pope in London and has been rediscovered after Marić death. Celebrating Marić 100 year of birth it has been first performed in Belgrad by Neda Arsenijević on March 18th 2009.
