Fantaisie Brilliante on Themes from Bizet's Carmen (Flute and Piano)
Description
Fantaisie Brilliante on Themes from Bizet's Carmen (Flute and Piano) By Francois Borne, Edited by Henrik Wiese, Published by Universal Editions.
Score and Part(s) The virtuosic Carmen Fantasy is well known to flutists as an artistic mountain to climb. Demanding of a range of polished skills, the Fantaisie brillante uses excerpts from Bizet's beloved Carmen throughout, with dynamic singing and technical fireworks along the way. UE here pairs the Fantaisie brillante with another, albeit unknown, arrangement of an opera excerpt by Borne. He has apparently used a piano score of the Adolphe Adam opera Giralda in this arrangement from Act 3, with embellishments in the flute part. Text from the aria is also included for reference. For advanced performers.
