How to Use Checkbook.io
As a company constantly working to improve our client experience, we use an online tool called checkbook.io to automate our Teacher Payouts, Consignment Payouts, Musician Payouts, and other payments that would previously have been issued by a paper check. This method is easier, more efficient, much more secure, and less error-prone than printing, signing, and mailing physical checks. To that end, we have officially gone “paperless”!
Please note that this service initiates an ACH transfer. The network for ACH transfers was designed for the American Financial System. International clients without a US bank account - or domestic clients who prefer not to utilize the checkbook.io software solution - can still request payment from Flute Center via a traditional bank-initiated wire transfer or ACH, via Zelle, or via Paypal.
Flute Center will initiate a payment email from within checkbook.io, which will be sent to your email address in our database. Please make sure that your email address is updated and correct in our database by calling or emailing any of our team members. The email will come from “support@checkbook.io“ immediately upon initiating the payment.
Please follow these easy instructions to redeem your payment:

Open your email and click “View deposit options”.

The following screen will appear with your digital check. You have the option to initiate a direct deposit or print a copy of the check for mobile/physical deposit yourself.

Click through the prompts for either “Deposit” or “Print”. Checkbook.io was founded by a former VISA executive and funded by JP Morgan Chase, so they use bank-grade security via Plaid to make all transfers and deposits.

We strongly recommend selecting the “Deposit” option and utilizing the online banking option.

Printing the check eliminates our ability to void and reissue the check. Additionally, some bank tellers may not accept these non-traditional, self-printed checks. Mobile deposits via your phone should work fine.

If you select “Deposit”, Checkbook will ask you to select “Instant Verification” or “Manual Verification”.

“Instant Verification” will prompt you to search for your bank. Select “Continue Without Paper” and log into your bank via Plaid. Neither Checkbook nor Flute Center ever sees any of your bank account information or login information, making this option much more secure than sending you a wire or ACH transfer.

“Manual Verification” allows you to input your routing and account numbers directly into Checkbook for deposit. This information is never stored on Checkbook’s servers.

Once you have finished connecting your bank account, the funds will appear in your account within 2-3 business days.

You can Change the deposit information or check on the status of the payment by simply clicking on the original email sent to you. Your payout is safely, quickly, and accurately deposited into your account within a few days. Easy!
