Khoi Dinh is a flutist who has performed throughout the United States, Asia, and Europe as a solo, chamber, and orchestral musician. He holds a Master's degree from The Juilliard School and received his Bachelor of Music from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) as a recipient of the comprehensive Falk-Columbo Scholarship.
Dinh was twice a fellow at the Pacific Music Festival (Sapporo, Japan) and has performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic under the batons of Gustavo Dudamel and Esa Pekka Salonen. Additionally he has performed with the Juilliard Orchestra, American Youth Symphony, and the National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America/NYO2. He appeared in Carnegie Hall’s Isaac Stern Auditorium and partook in their tour of Asia under conductors Michael Tilson Thomas and Giancarlo Guerrero. He has been a featured soloist in Alice Tully Hall with the Juilliard Chamber Orchestra (New York), Kontrapunktus Baroque Chamber Orchestra (Los Angeles), and UCLA Philharmonia.
In 2023 Dinh attended the International Summer Academy Wind Soloists masterclass of the MDW Wien with Professor Andrea Lieberknecht where he was awarded the Reicha Prize for the best performance of a work by Anton Reicha. In 2019 and 2021, he attended the Nice International Music Academy (Nice, France) in the studios of Philippe Bernold and Vincent Lucas. In 2017 and 2018, he studied at Orford Music Academy (Quebec, Canada). In 2022 he received a full scholarship to attend the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein. Dinh has received the Jack Smith Memorial Award for Most Promising Young Talent from the Pasadena Showcase House Instrumental Competition. For three years, 2018-2020, he won prizes from the National YoungArts Foundation winner in classical music. He won the 2020 UCLA All-Star competition through which he performed the Ibert flute concerto with the UCLA Philharmonia.
He is grateful for the inspiration and tutelage from his instructors Denis Bouriakov, Erin Bouriakov, Sarah Jackson, Sandra Miller, and Carol Wincenc.
Dinh is a Haynes Young Artist and performs on a 14k fusion with 19.5k P-cut headjoint custom Haynes flute.
