Join us at the Flute Center for an in-person recital and masterclass featuring Soo-Kyung Park and Yeontaek Oh on piano! In this masterclass, geared toward High School Flute Students, Soo-Kyung Park will provide strategies on how students can take their flute lessons from good to great, and how to create a productive relationship with a private flute teacher.

Korean-born flutist Soo-Kyung Park enjoys a multi-faceted career as a soloist, chamber musician, artistic director, producer, and teacher. Upon arriving in the United States, Ms. Park was accepted to The Juilliard School in the Pre-College Division at the age of 11, where she studied with Bonnie Lichter. She continued her studies at The Juilliard School, where she earned both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music Performance under the tutelage of Julius Baker and Jeanne Baxtresser.
An international performing artist, Ms. Park has performed solo and chamber music concerts throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia. Among other performance honors, she has been a guest soloist with the Amadeus Chamber Orchestra at IBK Hall in Seoul and has performed solo and chamber music performances at Busan Maru International Music Festival in Korea, as well as double concerto performances of Cimarosa's Concerto for two flutes and J.S. Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 4 with Keith Underwood and Carol Wincenc in NYC. She released her first album “Reminiscing” under the SONY Korea label in 2013.
Highly in demand as a teacher, Ms. Park has taught masterclasses in the United States, Europe, and Korea. She is currently an Artist Professor at New York University as well as a faculty member of the Manhattan School of Music, Pre-College Division. She also serves on the faculty of The Consummate Flutist, a masterclass series at Carnegie Mellon University.
In addition to teaching, Ms. Park has produced and presented numerous masterclasses and recitals by world-renowned artists through her artist management and consulting company, SKP Musicians. Featured musicians have included Alberto Almarza, Jeanne Baxtresser, Julien Beaudiment, Linda Chesis, Mathieu Dufour, and Karl-Heinz Schutz.
An avid chamber musician, Ms. Park is the artistic director and a founding member of the Musicians of Lenox Hill, an ensemble she has led in annual performances at the Temple of Israel in NYC for two decades. She is also co-founder of NY Flutists, a professional flute ensemble based in New York City.
