What Happens After You Buy a Flute from Flute Center?

What Happens After You Buy a Flute from Flute Center?

Your trial is over, you've sent back the instruments you ruled out, and your new flute is finally in hand, ready to start your new flute journey!

So… now what?

At Flute Center, your journey doesn’t end when you buy a flute. In fact, it’s just beginning. Here’s what happens next, and what to expect as you settle in with your new instrument.

1. Your Flute is Prepped and Shipped with Care

Every flute is carefully inspected by our expert team before it leaves our doors. Whether it’s brand new or Certified Pre-Owned, your instrument goes through a final quality check before it arrives in your hands. You will get a tracking number when the package ships. We do require a signature upon delivery.

2. Take Advantage of Your 12-Month Service Guarantee

All new and Certified Pre-Owned flutes come with our exclusive 12-month Service Guarantee. During your first year, we strongly recommend scheduling at least one free check-up, even if everything feels perfect. Flutes have soft parts (like pads, corks, and felts) that settle and shift with regular playing, especially during the first few months. We’re here to keep your instrument in top shape.

3. Insure Your Instrument

We highly recommend getting musical instrument insurance to protect your flute from theft, damage, or loss, whether at home, in transit, or on stage. Here are a few trusted providers:

  • Anderson Musical Instrument Insurance – Offers discounts for NFA members

  • Clarion Insurance

  • Heritage Insurance

You can also explore options through your homeowners or renters’ insurance for a dedicated rider or policy.

Note: Once your flute is officially yours, it's your responsibility to insure it during shipping. While we’re happy to provide a shipping label for repairs, instruments sent to us are not covered by our insurance in transit. However, once your flute arrives at Flute Center, it’s protected under our business insurance. Return shipping is on us and fully insured.

4. Keep Up with Regular Maintenance

Flutes are precision instruments, and like any finely crafted tool, they need regular care. We recommend a yearly Clean, Oil, and Adjust (COA) to keep your instrument sounding its best and prevent long-term issues.

Between services, make a habit of:

  • Swabbing after each use

  • Wiping down the exterior

  • Always store it properly in its case

Your flute will thank you with a longer life and better sound.

5. We’re Still Here for You

Flute Center is run by professional flutists who get it. Whether you need accessory recommendations, repair advice, or just want to chat about your repertoire, we’re here for you. Our team loves hearing from fellow flutists, and we’re always just a phone call or email away!

6. Enjoy Your Sound and Your Peace of Mind

Buying a flute from Flute Center is more than a transaction. It’s joining a supportive, knowledgeable, flute-loving community that’s with you every step of the way.
