Great value for upgrade to MX-2 silver with gold riser

I tried 10 different head joints, and this is the one that I felt was the best match for what I was looking for. I get a full range, clear tones, and a robust sound. I compared the Miyazawa MX-2 in all silver, MX-2 with the gold riser only, and MX-2 with the full gold lip plate. What I like about the MX-2 with the gold riser is that you get a great value for about 85% of the gold resonance that you would experience with the full gold lip plate, but without spending double the price. I had upgraded from a Yamaha CY head joint to the MX-2. My husband could hear a very clear difference in quality when comparing the two. One thing I liked with MX-2 compared to the MX-1 is that the upper range sounds a lot more clear and there is greater flexibility with my embouchre. Miyazawa head joints fit my Yamaha 881 very well, although they were a little on the snug side. MX-2 won the blinded trial between Yamaha A and K cuts as well. Highly recommended.

Bright sound

I instantly loved the sound of this headjoint, paired with a 402 Miyazawa. After years of playing on an aurumite Powell headjoint (which I still enjoy playing), I loved how cleanly/clearly and brightly this headjoint sounded.
