Non-Certified pre-owned instruments are sold in as-is condition and do not come with any formal warranty or guarantee.

In love with its beautiful sound

I trialed four flutes from FCNY and the Powell Sonare 705 was the clear winner - I LOVE it. It has a full, rich sound with great projection, which were my top priorities for playing in a rock band. The downside for me is the mechanism feels quite loose and a bit noisy. It's not a problem on rock music (which isn't particularly technical, but sound and projection are everything), but when I work on classical technical passages at home it is noticeable. It's the only thing keeping this review from being 5-plus stars.
I had also trialed a Pearl, which had a silent, VERY responsive mechanism, but the sound of the Sonare 705 made it an easy pick given given my priorities for playing onstage and my personal preference for a warm sound.

A flute to grow with

This is a wonderful step-up flute and has a large capacity to grow into. For me, it offers more than other models in a similar price range in terms of ease of playability, tonal and dynamic range.

Thought it would be better than what it was for the cost.

The flute case is too tight for easy parts storage to insert and remove without a lot of effort. The low B note is almost impossible to achieve. The highest notes are difficult to get a good sound.

It may be that I'm out of practice but need to call the flute center for many questions.

Sounds quality is wonderful

Sounds quality is wonderful. The staff assisting us with different options until my daughter found the right one for her was perfect. Highly recommend purchasing with flute center. We have purchased both in person and online adn both experiences were fantastic.

Amazing instrument!
