I went into FCNY on a Saturday. I called ahead. I was looking for a specific product, a Robert Bigio crown in stopper. I had a version from the 90's that was spectacular on a vintage flute I played for a long time, so I wanted to see how it would do on my Powell. Unfortunately the Bigio was not compatible with my flute, but I asked to try a Hernandez, and that worked very well. While I am not sure what a listener would experience, I felt a responsiveness to articulation as well as benefits in both the low and high range. The FMCY folks were super helpful and patient with me as I worked out what my flute needed. Believe it or not this was my first visit to a big urban "flute store" (I'm 65 and live in a very rural place) and the experience was excellent. Highly recommend a visit if you are in NYC!
