I have been buying flutes for my students at the Flute Center for many years. There is huge selection in all price ranges and I never feel pressured to buy a particular flute, but am left alone to make my own decision. Frequently, Phil has has a really special vintage flute for me to try while I’m there. It’s almost impossible not to run into a colleague or a famous flutist from another country while I’m there.  Phil always goes out of his way to fit me in for a quick emergency repair. I have very fond memories of sipping wine for hours in Phil’s shop with my dear departed friend from Mexico, Helen Wolff.  Phil has gone out of his way to help me in many ways for which I am very grateful.  I consider him a good friend.
